Torrential rains preceded Saturday's ride, but come morning the weather looked quite reasonable and it seemed like the forecast for clearing weather would hold... until everyone got to within about a kilometre of the legion. Wet roads with constant drizzle and a 20ish wind from the north were the order of the day for the 11 riders that took part. Although it wasn't warm it was just warm enough that with arm warmers, knee warmers, and a vest I found it a surprisingly comfortable ride.
One of FOG's strengths is that on almost any scheduled ride there will be a good number of people to ride with. We had 11 on what looked like a miserable day and throughout the summer, even when numbers dwindle as people are away, we've still been drawing high twenties to thirties.
