Club Photo

Thanks to everyone who made it out for the club photo/BBQ/ride. It's always difficult to get everyone out due to other commitments (we managed to get about half the club in), but it was great to see some good friends who haven't made it out so far this year. I think everyone would agree that the biggest treat was seeing Gary Edwards out complete with a podium edition of the club jacket to fit around his chest brace. If you click on the photo you'll be taken to a decent size copy. I'm working on a way for you to be able to download a full size 8x12 copy, but haven't had success so far.
46 riders took part in the ride, splitting into two groups at Lockport; a fast 40+ kph group that managed to do the full ride to the big bridge and past Bird's Hill Park and a regular group that rode from Lockport around Birds Hill Park. The skies were pitch black to the west and there was a steady light rain for about an hour, but then the skies cleared and the weather couldn't have been nicier.
Thanks to Rene for organizing the BBQ and picking up the supplies, Judy for helping take the photo, and to the club members who donated salads and some very decadent desserts. Just remember that if you see a bowl of fruit from Arlene at a FOG BBQ that it's probably about 100 proof.

Once again --- great picture.
It was nice to see Gary E. there, walking and smiling, so soon after the accident.
Thanks Gary

Excellent photo Gary.
Question. If I want to race the next handicap race, do I require a license?

Hi Dan,
Yes you will require a licence for the handicap race. The only road race left that I'm aware of where the organizer will purchase event insurance is the Provincial Time Trial Championships that FOG is hosting in late August. We will purchase event insurance so that anyone can race (no licence required) - though technically non-licensed riders will be racing in a second concurrently run race and will not be taking part in the actual Provincials race. There will also likely be 3 cross races that don't require a licence: Menno Cross, Altona, and Bourkevale.
