Cyclocross Pre-Riding

Every cyclocross racer knows they should pre-ride the course before their race. It's important to note though that although organizers are obligated to provide time for pre-riding the course, the rules do not in any way, shape, or form require them to provide that before each race. At a buys race that's impossible. It's up to riders to look at the schedule and determine when the best time to pre-ride will be. If one looks at the Dark Cross schedule for example, it's pretty clear that riders in the C Race can't count on pre-riding right before their race. With only an hour between the open and C Races, and the open race scheduled for approximately 40 minutes, the last rider will probably come across the line around 50 minutes.  With staging starting 5-10 minutes before the C Race, poof no time to pre-ride.
