2017 Spring Ride

Well it's hard not to get antsy about getting the Saturday club rides started. Despite the promise of warmer temperatures, the reality is that temperature is only one small part to consider in trying to determine when it's safe to take out a large group of riders on public roads. We're thinking that April 8th is a reasonable goal. Note that is not a confirmed date as of yet. The forecast changes almost daily at this time of year so check back for last minute updates. Confirmation of the ride may not happen until the Thursday or Friday.

Please use the time to ensure that your equipment is in good mechanical condition. Mechanicals in cold weather suck. There are always things you meant to fix in the fall, but have forgotten.

Please also note that you need your 2017 MCA AND FOG memberships (details are here). No memberships = no riding.

UPDATE: Thursday 1800. The weather forecasts have been at complete odds all week. Environment Canada has changed it's forecast from calling for showers to 20C and sunny. Things often change completely this time of year. Plan to ride Saturday at 0900, but make sure to check back for updates.

Friday 1900: Amigos, at this point ride is on, just check back in the morning in case there are changes. Forecast is for a high of 15 with showers in the afternoon.

Saturday: Ride is on. See you out there.

Fools game to try to predict the weather ahead of time this time of year. Now forecast says a chance of showers again. Planning on riding, but no way of knowing for sure until we see the weather later tonight or even tomorrow morning.
