May 13 Anticipation

It's finally here! With good weather and no racing it'll be the first large group ride of the year. The forecast calls for a mix of sun and cloud, and a strong northeast wind. But be prepared for it to be warm (about 18C) and perhaps humid from the start. 

Since it's been awhile, a reminder that if you're drafting it'll be easier to hang on to a group that is heading INTO the wind as the people on the front have to work much harder. 

For those that dismiss aero testing at 50 kph read the grumpy old men post. Aero testing is quoted with wind speed. FOG at 30 kph into a 20 kph head wind is 50 kph wind speed, exactly the same as that aero testing quoted at 50 kph. Don't wear some baggy jacket tomorrow... unless you want to work way harder than everyone else.
