Number of riders: 12
Start Temp: 15C

Distance 85 km (Legion to Big Bridge to Hwy 44 to Hwy 59 back to Legion)
If you stayed home because of the dark clouds you missed another great ride. For the second ride in a row the forecast was for 100% chance of rain and for the second ride in a row the predicted rains never materialized, but again the air sure was heavy.
Old school ride for the hard men and women of the north. Fast ride overall, both in terms of speed and time taken. Stops were kept short. 12 riders, a range of abilities, but generally towards the faster end of the club. Some good riding and intelligent drafting helped keep the pace high. The wind was often swirling and made it a huge effort at times on the way out and even on the way back. For a short period on Hwy 59 everything was in our favour as we cruised along at 45+ while barely at an endurance effort. Then for some contrast, some stretches at 47 - 48kph without the wind. Overall that will probably be one of the most challenging rides for some of the riders.
The ideal dress for the day was a jersey, shorts, arm warmers, +/- base layer. Rain jacket in the back pocket.
