24/7 Cycling Insurance

As an MCA member you may have received this email about bicycle and rider insurance. I'll attempt to clarify some of the details and why it may be important to you at our AGM on Sunday.

Please share this with your networks. This is something many of us have wanted since we started cycling regularly. Please read the details below in options 1 and 2. but to summarize: $50 for an MCA General membership (non-racing) anyone can become a member. $50 Personal coverage (injury, third party liability etc.) $100 Bicycle coverage (damage, theft, in transit damage etc.) Totaling as little as $200 per year, per person. Premium can go up with the coverage you chose i.e. more liability or higher than $2500.00 bike value. ($16.67 per month) New competition coverage is also avallible  Not everyone can afford $200 a year, but for those who can, it beats buying a new bike, missing wages due to injury or paying to fix damage to someone else’s property. “NEW” SPECIALTY INSURANCE OPTIONS FOR MCA MEMBERS! There are a number of new insurance options now available to MCA members. All “speciality” options are available at preferential rates and can be arranged directly through Holman Insurance (see contact details at the bottom of this email). However, any “activities” deemed outside the core program, would not be covered by the Membership alone. We now have an optional Liability and Accident policy with No deductible which fills the gap. Our new exclusive coverage provides 24 /7 coverage as a result of an accident directly arising from you use of a bicycle.
