FOG is 30!

It's hard to believe, but FOG is 30 years old.

You can see a copy of our old web site here. It'll give a feel for some history, but might also explain why we do the things we do. 

Over the years we've made a few changes. The Coles Notes version of the FOG ride is that the ride to Lockport used to be held to 35 kph and then would speed up from there. 

-At 35 kph if anyone had a mechanical some would struggle at the 40-45 kph required to get back to the group, so in 2006 we lowered the speed to Lockport to 30.

-A single ride was always a challenge as FOG and the range of abilities of it's members grew (and yes some of us got older). So today we generally offer three choices from Lockport: The B group is the prototypical FOG ride. It will cruise at about 38 kph after Lockport and will often be the largest group. The A group is a faster, harder ride typically cruising in the low 40s, much faster with the wind. It will typically be 3 to 6 riders. The C group will typically cruise at about 33 kph. Size will vary.
