April 18 ride

Tomorrow’s weather forecast is for a 30% chance of rain in the morning. The odds are that it will be dry, but if it happens to be pouring you can expect that the turnout will be light. We will follow a similar route to last week, though likely with a little modification, perhaps to Cook’s creek and/or another lap or two of BHP to increase distance. Looking back at the last few years, the first ride is usually about 75km and the second just over 100. We will confirm at our pre-ride huddle. We will split into two groups at Lockport. We will be more proactive with that this year. Smaller groups are much safer than one large group. Smaller groups are more courteous to others on the road. Smaller groups give us a better opportunity to meet everyone’s needs. The slower group will always follow the faster group to allow a fall back option.

Everyone did a great job last week. Please remember to be respectful of other people on the road and to look well ahead to anticipate potential obstacles.
