If you haven’t obtained your club or MCA memberships yet, please do so ASAP.
There was a little confusion about this. If you were at the AGM in November and you remember filling in the paperwork, then you probably applied for your memberships. The cost would have been $20 for FOG and $35 for the MCA general membership. If you were planning to race this year, you probably only paid the $20 FOG membership and not the MCA as the race licence is only available from the MCA starting in the spring. If you can’t remember what the heck you did in November, Anne-Marie has the records.
The MCA memberships/licences are available online http://www.cycling.mb.ca/ through the Karelo link on the front page.
Some Karelo hints:
1) You will need ONE of the following MCA memberships/licences:
- At a minimum you need at least a general membership – select $35 General Membership
- If you want to try a few races and haven’t held a race licence before – select $40 Citizen’s licence
- If you need a regular racing licence – select $95 CCA/UCI licence
2) Select FOG as your club
3) Race category:
If you selected a citizen’s licence you will automatically ride in the category 5 (Cat 5) races. If you are obtaining a full racing licence, but haven’t raced before select Cat 5. If you’re too fast you can always ask to move up, but generally you cannot move down to easier categories.
