Good luck to everyone taking part in the Manitoba Marathon on Sunday! Weather looks like it will be beautiful i.e. not 30 degrees celsius. The rest of us will ride tomorrow. Not too hot, not too cold, a chance of showers in the afternoon.
Le Tour is just a couple of weeks away. In a bit of irony although stages 3 and 4 are in Belgium and ideally suit them, neither Tomeke nor Phil Gil will be there. Froome stormed to the win at Criterium Dauphine with Tejay van Garderen just behind. Nibali dropped all the contenders like dead weight on one day, but faltered badly on a couple of others. Following his Giro victory, Contador has just returned to racing at the Route du Sud. Quintana, who has kept a very low profile is there too. Pinot is in the lead at the Tour de Suisse, but will likely lose that to Geraint Thomas in the closing time trial. Who's your favourite to win?
And finally, the winningest pro rider of all, Eddy Merckx (525 pro victories and numerous TdF stage and overall victories) turned 70 this week. Happy Birthday Eddy!
