April 23/24 Weekend

First Ride
Looks like we're finally on for the first ride tomorrow. 0900 at the Legion. Forecast is for a mix of sun and cloud with a high of 13C. Projected start conditions: 4C wind NE15. There will likely be enough riders to split into two groups at Lockport.

NOTE: As a result of the rider survey and on recommendations of the working group we will be rolling out some small, but important changes to the ride over the next few weeks. Be prepared. Don't assume for example that since your group always left last that it will do the same this year. Yeah, I know, we're old and set in our ways. Well it's 2016 and we're young at heart and the future is still ours. We're moving ahead.

There's a race at BHP so for those riding to BHP go clockwise around the ring road (turn right instead of left).

REMEMBER you need all your FOG and MCA memberships in order. See here...

2016 Ride Survey
Thanks to all those who took the time to complete the survey. We were completely blown away by the response; 42 members replied, about 2/3 of those who were emailed. That's unheard of.

The working group met for several hours and believes it has a good plan to meet the needs of as many members as possible and to take FOG into the future. Streamlining and communicating that work for multiple situations will take a little time. We hope to roll that out soon. In the meantime, the key which seems so simple, yet is so elusive is to think as part of a group, not as an individual. Riders at both ends of the speed spectrum, slow and fast, are equally responsible for issues with group dynamics. George B. may have summed it up best; think of it as a group time trial. What do I need to do to help my group move best.

A separate page with all the details; stats, priorities and thought process, guidelines, etc. will come up here shortly.

Sunday
Sunday it's LBL which closes out the Spring Classics :(  But, then the Giro starts in Apeldoorn in only two weeks! Hard to believe.
