Updated Fitting Notes

I've had a little more time to try some of the samples and compare them to one another and the previous kit (also read the previous post). The levels are:

  • Apex+ is the highest line and very slim (think pro rider fitting). ChampSys has a summer sale on Apex+ gear at 10% off till September.
  • Performance + is a modern, but more affordable choice.
  • Tech is like the older style. You can still order that, but for most people the Performance+ is going to be a better option

TOPS: The old jerseys (race cut) fit like euro sized jerseys. I.e. if you normally took a small North American size you'd take a medium jersey. The Performance+ jersey has the same cut (but with longer sleeves) as the previous jerseys. The material though is more forgiving. As a result I would say it fits a little larger than the previous jerseys; somewhere in between North American and Euro size (a bit closer to Euro). If your old medium jersey was a bit tight the new medium will likely fit better. If the old medium was loose you might be better going down a size. The material is quite stretchy. If you're between sizes the smaller would be more aero, but more compressive fitting, the larger more relaxing, but would catch more air.

Note that the Apex+ jerseys fit about a size smaller than the Performance+ jerseys.

The Tech level jerseys are still available. I expect they would fit the same as the old jerseys.

If you're looking for a mesh style hot weather jersey you're one option is the Apex+ Lite.

BIBS: The bibs are easier. Although the Performance+ bibs and Apex+ bibs have a slightly different construction unlike the jerseys they fit exactly the same as far as sizing and have the same chamois. They seem to fit the same as the old bibs.
