Saturday Anticipation

Weather Forecast: High of 18C. 60% chance of drizzle.
Chance of ride being cancelled: low
Rider Leaders:
Normal Group: Howard Ryant
Fast Group: Steve Johnston

As per June 5 the ride will divide into two groups at Lockport and ride separately thereafter. There will be NO washroom stop at Lockport. Please plan your pre-ride routine accordingly.

Read the June 5 recap here and June 5 anticipation here for what you can expect.

I will emphasize again that for the rides to work smoothly (and to give you the best experience) it is important to assess your ability relative to the rest of your group. If you're not the strongest in your group don't feel obligated to pull. In fact you're more likely to upset your ride mates if you insist on going to the front and end up slowing down the pace. Draft, draft, draft. Pair up with someone of equal ability. Move to the front when it's your turn and immediately (and safely) come off the front so you can move back into the draft again. Stronger riders should take longer pulls and ride on the windy side.

Although it is permissible for riders who are struggling to hold the pace to pull out of the peloton before they reach the front (so they can drift back to the rear of the group) this will create gaps and may put other riders in difficulty. It is preferable and far less disruptive if you concentrate on pairing up with someone of similar ability. Move forward in turn and when you reach the front come off immediately and smoothly together.

*All riders must possess BOTH MCA AND FOG memberships. You can sign up with FOG by arriving a little early and seeing Anne-Marie.
