As we get older there's sometimes a tendency to think that we should let up more and take it easier through the off season. It's not that long ago that the prevailing wisdom was that you couldn't be a serious athlete past your mid 30's. Thankfully millions are proving that wrong and recently there has begun to be credible scientific research on the physiology of master's athletes. And that research says it's even more important for master's athletes not to let things slide in the off season. Younger athletes can get away with it and quickly regain fitness in the spring. It's much much more difficult for masters athletes. So now there's even better reasons to get away in the winter to ride.
