La Morra is a small town in the Barolo region. It has two very large churches, the chiesa San Martino:
and the chiesa della Confraternita di San Rocco:
both Catholic and built within 100 feet of one another!
Amazingly, many of the churches have taken centuries to complete. Way back almost three weeks ago, stage 2 finished in Genova. The Basilica dell'Annunziata was started in 1520 and not completed until the mid 1800's.

A rather plain exterior often belies a very ornate interior.
The Giro will finish in Milano. The Duomo di Milano is the largest church in Italy and the fifth largest in the world. Construction began in 1386 and wasn't completed until 1965!
