Chili Sauce

FOG took a big step forward as a group when we started riding not as one group, but as two or three. While riding as two groups has been much better at giving everyone the opportunity of a good challenging ride, three groups has been and would be even better. I've been looking at trying to resurrect the endurance group, but while that might be good for new riders, for the current group of experienced FOG riders I might be wrong about that. Instead we have a lot of riders who seem to fit between the Classic Group and the Fast Group and feedback from current riders is generally that people aren't interested in being part of a 'slow' group.

Last year Howard half jokingly suggested a 'super fast group' and the guys did that for a ride or two. To create any extra group we need to know that we'll consistently have the numbers and we seem to have that now. On ride #2 we showed we could have a really fast group with only 3 or 4 riders doing the work and others drafting most of the time and that worked really well.

I know for a lot of people there is a natural tendency to want to stay with the perceived security of a large group, but groups over 10 or 12 are actually inherently more dangerous and prone to crashes, and they're also much more difficult for motorized traffic, so this weekend let's try something different.
-if you feel that the current classic group pace is about your limit for comfort please ride with the classic group. Ride Leader: Howard
-if you feel the classic pace could be a little faster, but the fast group seems too much of a stretch please consider riding in the medium-fast group. Ride Leader: Marcel
-if you want to go hard and ride fast then maybe the extra hot ride is the one for you (you don't even have to pull, you can draft the whole time). Ride Leader: Gary

Ideally we'll have about a 2/5 2/5 1/5 split.
